We are Jeff and Robin Maijala, proud Galveston residents with a love for family, community and delicious food! Raising four very hungry boys, good food has always been an important staple in our family. Now that we’ve settled down in Tiki Island, we want to continue to share our family style cooking with you!

Wonderful question, dear reader! “Sisu” is a Finnish term that can be roughly translated into English as strength of will, determination, perseverance, and acting rationally in the face of adversity. Sisu is not momentary courage, but the ability to sustain that courage.

This is a mantra that we’ve lived our whole lives with, so it was only fitting to name this dream after.
